Community Health Rotation Program

About the rotation

This interdisciplinary program gives students hands-on experience in collaborative community clinical, policy, and advocacy work serving underserved populations.

The rotation provides meaningful service to partnering sites while offering students the chance to deepen their skills and understanding of community health.

Students who complete the Community Health Internship Program may elect to participate in these rotations.

American Heart Association

An advocacy & policy program where students work on the Breathe Free Pennsylvania Coalition, the dangers of second hand smoke, and policy to support casinos to go smoke-free.

Covenant House

Serves homeless youth, runaways and youth in crisis, and provides students with an opportunity to engage the youth in the cultivation of constructive responses to stress and attain skills that build positive approaches to life’s challenges.

Provides primary care to address the physical and emotional health needs of Philadelphia’s children from birth through age 18, regardless of ability to pay.

Prevention Point

A multiservice public health organization where students will experience a nonjudgmental approach to the provision of health care and social services for the hardest-to-reach and often addicted populations.

HMS School

Serves students aged 5 to 21 who have cerebral palsy or other complex disabilities. HMS School’s mission focuses on enabling all students to reach their maximum potential. They do this by promoting independence and improving the quality of life for their students in a safe and secure environment, so that each student can lead a fulfilling, stimulating life — now and as an adult.

Eligibility

​Space is limited. Interested students are advised to start the application process as early as possible in their professional training.
