This Too is Healthcare:
Bridging the Gaps
The documentary is a catalyst for interactive discussions, facilitated by the filmmaker and Bridging the Gaps representatives to spark dialogue about health and healthcare across multiple sectors. It is designed to open space for conversation about equity, partnership, and the shared responsibility we all hold in shaping healthier communities through the development of multi-sector networks.
This Too is Healthcare
Following its premiere on October 6, 2025 at the 35th Anniversary Symposium of Bridging the Gaps, the documentary is now accepting requests for screenings.
Screenings include the 65-minute runtime, followed by a discussion facilitated by the director, André Robert Lee, with potential to include other discussants from around the BTG Network or from your own community.
What happens when health and social service students learn not just from textbooks, but from the lived experiences of those they serve?
What does it mean to truly serve a community — not just treat its symptoms?
Can an opportunity change a life — or a system?

Knowing his ability to effect change through filmmaking and media, the Bridging the Gaps (BTG) Program approached filmmaker André Robert Lee about making a documentary that tells the story of Bridging the Gaps, a 35 year program linking the training of health and social service professionals with the provision of health related service in under resourced and marginalized communities.
