About the Event
Hoa currently serves as the Deputy Secretary for the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services’ Office of Income Maintenance, where she oversees a broad portfolio of public assistance programs like Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Medicaid, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and others. In this capacity, Hoa oversees the policy and administration of programs that provide stabilizing support for nearly 3M Pennsylvanians, and the nearly 7000 staff Commonwealth-wide who provide these critical services.
A lifelong public servant hailing from Philadelphia, Hoa’s career spans the social impact sector, including experience as a direct service provider, program manager, intermediary, and funder. Growing up in a low-income, immigrant family, Hoa is deeply committed to channeling these perspectives to build stronger, more collaborative and human-centered solutions that deliver strong return on investment for communities in need.
